This webinar is designed to review the anatomy of the foot and ankle, to highlight important acupuncture points as they relate to this anatomy, to review common medical conditions of the foot and ankle and to suggest treatment modalities for these issues.

Learning objectives

At the conclusion of this LIVE webcast physician participants will be able to:

  • Diagnose common problems that cause ankle and foot pain.
  • Design acupuncture treatment plans that will help alleviate pain associated with common ankle and foot problems.
  • Locate acupuncture points described in the prescribed acupuncture treatment plans.
  • Execute needle placement in prescribed acupuncture points.
  • Understand the anatomy that underlies and is affected by the needle placements.

Jason Oreskovich, DO, FAAMA

Dr. Oreskovich is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Family Medicine in Morgantown, WV. He is a full-time faculty member and is the MS3 Medical Student Co-Clerkship Director. Dr. Oreskovich is Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Medical Acupuncture. He practices Integrative medicine through his use of Medical Acupuncture as an adjunct therapy for patients with chronic pain and other medical conditions. He also applies his skill of osteopathic manipulation for a well-rounded treatment approach. Dr. Oreskovich is an enthusiastic teacher and shapes the future of medicine through his work with medical students. He is appreciated for his service to the state of West Virginia.

Kendra Unger, MD, FAAMA

Dr. Unger is an Associate Professor with the Department of Family Medicine in Morgantown, WV. She is a full-time faculty member and is the MS3 Medical Student Co-Clerkship Director. Dr. Unger is a Board Certified Family Physician and holds her board certification in Medical Acupuncture through the American Board of Medical Acupuncture. She practices Integrative medicine through her use of Medical Acupuncture as an adjunct therapy for patients with chronic pain and other medical conditions. In the spring of 2019, she was elected to serve as a board member for the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA), which is the national organization representing physician acupuncturists. Because of her clinical work using acupuncture and due to her teaching efforts in this field, she was named a fellow of the AAMA and continues to serve the patients of West Virginia.
