AAMA 2022 Symposium – On-Demand Recording Package

The Annual AAMA Symposium was held in-person, May 5-8, 2022 at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, OH. The theme of this year’s meeting was Healing Through Acupuncture. Needed Now More than Ever.”

The outstanding program focused on a diverse array of topics that are of interest to health care professionals engaged in, or interested in, incorporating medical acupuncture in their practice. The program includes three days of morning plenary presentations, and each afternoon features concurrent workshops on relevant topics, including:

  • pediatric acupuncture
  • physician wellness and acupuncture
  • perioperative acupuncture
  • facial pain
  • allergies
  • foot and ankle pain
  • battlefield acupuncture
  • hand acupuncture

A special Point/Counter Point panel session was presented Friday afternoon.

A number of popular annual events returned for this meeting. These include the Founders Lecture,  Poster Presentation session and plenty of opportunities for networking with colleagues and exhibit companies.

Objectives and Desired Outcomes

After attending the meeting, participants should be better able to:

  • Identify barriers and opportunities for the incorporation of acupuncture into existing medical practices, and recognize critical points in developing new practice models for acupuncture delivery;
  • Recognize acupuncture’s role in treatment options for acute and chronic pain syndromes of many types, and apply to various clinical cases;
  • Discuss the modern evidence base for acupuncture’s mechanisms of action, and recognize how these mechanisms interface with classical and modern treatment strategies.

The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture designates this enduring material for a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Annual Symposium emphasizes evidence-based scientific research that can be integrated with practical protocols for the serious clinician.
