Join us for a dynamic “grand rounds” session where a real-world case is presented by an AAMA colleague. A panel of experienced medical acupuncturists will discuss possible acupuncture approaches and strategies for the case. From simple to complex cases, the panelists will offer insights into developing strategies based on diagnostic considerations and how to work through developing a framework for treatment. This session will encourage audience engagement through Q&A and collaborative reasoning approaches.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this LIVE webcast physician participants will be able to:
- Discuss clinical conundrums and possible acupuncture approaches and strategies.
- Engage in inter-collegial discussion and healthy debate on relevant topics.
- Review general cautions and contraindications related to the subject.
PANELISTS
Tom Archie, MD, DABMA
Thomas Archie, MD practices family medicine, blending standard allopathic medicine, medical acupuncture with Chinese herbs, and functional medicine in a Direct Primary Care practice in Ketchum, Idaho. He completed the Medical Acupuncture for Physicians training under Dr. Joe Helms in 1999, a two year course in modular Chinese herbal prescription with Anastacia White in 2002, and a year of Neijing Medicine training with Dr. Ed Neal in 2020. He serves on the Education Committee for the AAMA.
Mitch Elkiss, DO, FAAMA
Michell Elkiss, DO, FAAMA has had a 40-year private practice of Integrative Neurology; is Board certified in Neurology, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and Medical Acupuncture. He is currently a preceptor of the Helms Medical Institute.
