Dr. Sandweiss brings 42 years of clinical experience as a multi-faceted physician/healer and master course instructor. He has taught on numerous occasions for the AAMA and other medical organizations.
Since 1979, Dr. Sandweiss has presented his knowledge and skills nationally and internationally to many audiences that have included: medical doctors, osteopathic physicians, chiropractors, nurses, physical therapists, athletic trainers, certified massage therapists, and other health professionals. His courses often integrate manual muscle testing with palpation and treatment protocols from osteopathic manipulative medicine, medical acupuncture, and functional medicine algorithms. This synergistic approach is helpful for diagnosing and treating complex patient presentations. Attendees are offered a rich variety of manual medicine techniques, nutritional pearls and acupuncture for resolving somatic dysfunctions.
Over the past 32 years he has practiced medicine as an osteopathic physician who is board certified in: Neuromusculoskeletal medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine and medical acupuncture. His avid interest in functional/nutritional medicine over the past 42 years allows him to also look at problems through a nutritional/metabolic lens that explores cellular physiology while simultaneously assessing the more macro-ergonomic effects of somatic dysfunctions on a disrupted anatomy.
Finally, Dr. Sandweiss has been practicing and teaching several martial arts since 1974, including Karate, Kung Fu, and Aikido. He continues to teach martial arts seminars in Atlanta every few years. In 1977-1978, Jay Sandweiss lived in Taiwan and Okinawa studying with famous Karate and Kung Fu grandmasters. His martial arts training has given him a refined kinesthetic awareness and insight about kinesiology and body language. Thus, Dr. Sandweiss brings to his courses a unique blend of approaches for managing many health conditions including pain, stress, and musculoskeletal dysfunctions. At his office, he is a “one-stop shop” offering his patients osteopathic manipulation, medical acupuncture, functional medicine, exercise prescription, and basic family medicine. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a truly gifted teacher!
